Thammampatti is a Town Panchayat in Gangavalli Taluk of Salem district in the state of Tamil Nadu Thammampatti is situated between Pachamalai and the Kolli Hills. The river Swetha flows through the town and joins the river Vasista to form the river Vellar, which empties into the Bay of Bengal at Port Novo.

As of the 2001 India census, Thammampatti has a voter population of 20,883. The literacy rate is 66%, with a male literacy rate of 74% and a female literacy rate of 58%. The main industry in the area is agriculture, especially cultivation of tapioca.

Two famous temples are located in Thammampatti. One is the Kashi Vishwanathar Aalayam, where the river Swetha flows as like, Ganges flow in Varanasi. In this temple the Aavudayar is in square shape which is very rare to find elsewhere. History says that, Pancha Pandavas visited Thammampatty (Ancient name - Tharumanagar) and had holy water in river Swetha. After about five generations, this temple underwent Kumbhabhishekam. Second is Sri Ukra Khadali Narasimha Swamy temple, which is around 600 years old. This temple underwent kumbhabhishekam in 2008. There is a also a mountain with temples of great three religions- Lord Murugan, a Church and a Mosque situated together symbolizing the unity of people from different religions.
